A team of Mill Water School staff will be taking part in the Bicton Balmy 10k race on Sunday, July 2.

They are taking on the challenge to help raise money for the school’s 121 pupils with severe and complex learning disabilities. The funds will go directly towards extra resources and enrichment activities for them.

Event organiser Lizzie Mayne, of LMEvents, has chosen Mill Water as the charity for the race, which will start and finish outside the East Budleigh school.

Georgia White, school fundraising and marketing lead, said: “We have been training in pretty warm conditions. This event is known for being hilly, with some interesting off-road trails. It should be great fun.”

The event is being supported by the wider community, with local running clubs and residents volunteering to help marshal the course, as well as school staff and Governors. The PTFA will be holding a cake stall at the finish line for runners and spectators.

To support Team Mill Water, donate to their Justgiving page or go along to cheer them on. The race starts at 9am and the event will be finished by 11.30am.
