Exmouth in Bloom have created a floral tribute to Exmouth Rugby Football Club which is celebrating 150 years in the community.

It was founded in 1873, making it one of the oldest rugby clubs in England.

The anniversary display is in the boat ‘Margaret Jean’ near the York Inn roundabout, where flowers in the club’s colours have been planted around the club badge showing the dates 1873-2023.

Members of the Exmouth in Bloom Committee have also met Devon County Councillors, Jeff Trail, Richard Scott and Christine Channon in Manchester Road to thank them for funding nine new reservoir planters there.

The containers, planted by pupils from Exeter Road School, have a facility to store water, which is enabling the plants to thrive during the heatwave.

Exmouth in Bloom have also thanked The Grapevine and Crossed Anchors Brewing for their annual sponsorship of the planters.
