Stagecoach is doubling the number of 57 bus services to Exmouth.

Buses to-an-fro Exmouth will now be every 15 minutes, Monday to Saturday. The new timetable will see the number of buses between Exeter and Exmouth doubled with the Monday to Saturday daytime frequency increased from every 30 minutes up to every 15 minutes, plus a number of additional journeys are introduced during the early morning and evening.

Up to four buses an hour now travel to Exeter with Topsham, Lympstone Exmouth. Customers will also be able to travel between city and sea for just £2, with all single fares capped until June 30th 2023. Residents of Brixington can also still enjoy buses every 30 minutes into Exmouth.

Stagecoach South West MD Peter Knight said: ‘I’m delighted to be able to offer this significant enhancement to our service. Route 57 is very popular within our local network, and I’m excited to bring more journey opportunities to residents across this corridor.’

‘The new timetable is designed to offer maximum flexibility with up to 60 journeys in each direction. We hope that with our investment in additional buses each hour, it will be easier for people to opt for car-free travel on their commute or to enjoy a relaxing day out.’

Simon Jupp, member of parliament for East Devon, said: “This is really great news for the many communities along the route. Over the last 18 months, I have asked for the Route 57 to return to pre-pandemic levels with services running every 15 minutes. I’m really pleased Stagecoach listened and passengers living on the route between Exmouth & Exeter have their regular service back. There’s good news for people’s pockets too as you can currently get around for £2 as the government has capped the cost of travelling by bus to encourage more of us to get back on board.”
