Two Stuart Line Cruises staff are tackling the London Marathon this weekend in ‘the biggest challenge of their lives’.
Lauren Clark and Karis Lang are raising money for their chosen children’s charities, the National Childbirth Trust and Kith & Kids.
Lauren aims to raise £2,000 for the National Childbirth Trust, which she said gave ‘invaluable’ support to both her and her sister Katie during their pregnancy and the birth of their children.
Karis will be running the marathon with her mother Caroline, raising money for Kith & Kids which supports children with a learning disability or autism, along with their families.
Stuart Line Cruises have been operating in Exmouth since 1968 and the family has supported many local businesses and community projects. Lauren and Karis completed the 20-mile Grizzly Run in February, and before that the Run Jurassic Half Marathon, but they said the London event will be ‘an enormous personal challenge.
The pair held a homemade cake sale at Exmouth Marina on Saturday, April 15, and raised more than £500 towards their chosen charities.
They are inviting donations online: Lauren via her fundraising page on the London Marathon website and Karis via JustGiving.
