Police have confirmed a person has died after being struck by a train near Exmouth this morning (Thursday, April 6).
Emergency services were called to Exmouth train station at around 6am.
The train line has now re-opened. A rail replacement service was in place for most of rush hour this morning, as the line was closed both ways as emergency services dealt with the incident.

A British Transport Police spokesman said: "We were called to the line close to Exmouth at 5.52am this morning, to reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Officers attended alongside colleagues from the ambulance service but sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
"The death is not believed to be suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
