A sewage pollution alert has been issued for Exmouth and Budleigh Salterton beach again today (Tuesday, March 28).

The warning urges people not to enter the sea, it has been issued for Exmouth, Budleigh Salterton and Sandy Bay.

The Surfers Against Sewage app says 'sewage pollution alert, storm sewage has been discharged from a sewer overflow in this location in the past 48 hours'.

The alert has been in place for three days now, the first in force on Sunday, (March 26). 

South West Water's new WaterLive Map says that 'the condition of the bathing water is not currently affected by overflows.'

South West Water is launching a new water quality map which allows members of the public to see information about storm overflows at East Devon beaches.

The new WaterFit Live map is designed to share information about the region’s bathing beaches and the location and performance of storm overflows ahead of the bathing season. 

The company hopes that sharing information about water quality will help them feel confident about beaches and the quality of the water.
