Colaton Raleigh artists group are holding their latest exhibition in the village over the Easter weekend.

Taking place on Friday, April 7, Saturday, April 8, Sunday, April 9 and Monday, April 10 from 10 am to 5 pm each day at the Village Hall. Contact Laura 07770 809571 for any further information.

There will be original paintings, prints, cards, stationary and crafts on display and for sale by Laura Boyd, Penny Silverthorne, Cynthia Boult , Rowan Turnbull and other local artists/ crafters EX10 STUDIO raise money for their chosen charity at each exhibition through the sale of delicious refreshments.

This year they are supporting the Sidmouth homeless charity Gateway through the sale of drinks, fabulous homemade cakes and light lunches organised by the artists and local volunteers including Helen Usmar who has volunteered many hours of her time for the Gateway charity over the past few years.

Gateway is there to support anyone in the Sid valley who is homeless or in danger of losing their home. Helen was surprised how much need there is in the area for the organisation.

Laura Boyd had a successful career producing limited edition etchings for Buckingham Fine Art Ltd but then decided to devote herself to landscape painting, primarily of East Devon Landscapes in acrylic and watercolour Penny Silverthorne runs her own stationery and notice board company using her own designs and also sells original paintings mostly in watercolour.

She is best known for her flower designs but also paints landscapes Rowan Turnbull paints still life and landscapes in watercolour Cynthia Boult retired from teaching art and a career in occupational therapy to work on her landscape painting mostly working in acrylics. Laura,Penny and Cynthia have won various prizes in local Art Society Shows including Best in Show trophy in the Exmouth Art Group’s annual show which Penny won in 2022.
