Children's Hospice South West most colourful fun runs is returning to Westpoint this summer.

Rainbow Run is taking place on Saturday, June 17 in aid of Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) and super early-bird tickets are on sale until April 4.

CHSW event organiser Kate Romo said anyone aged five years and over can take part and walk or run through different coloured paint stations along the 5km circular route, suitable for all abilities.

Kate Romo said: “It’s the brightest run for everyone. Just pull on a white T-shirt and run or walk through different coloured paint stations. There are no winners or race times, it’s all about having fun and raising money to help provide vital care for children and young people with life-limiting conditions and their families.”

Participants are asked to try and raise £20 in sponsorship and everyone who crosses the finish line will receive a special Rainbow Run medal.

People taking part in last year’s event at Escot Park raised thousands of pounds to support CHSW’s Little Bridge House children’s hospice near Barnstaple, which currently provides care for around 150 families from across Devon.

“We hope this year’s event will be bigger and better than ever and if everyone could raise just £20 in sponsorship, that could help fund one hour of care for local families,” added Kate.

“Our fabulous event village will be open from 12noon, with entertainment, face painters, a bouncy castle, games and tombolas, and music from Radio Exe. There will also be food and drink available, as well as plenty of colourful rainbow merchandise on sale.

“We can’t wait to see families having fun and making memories together, while supporting their local children’s hospice.”

Children's Hospice South West (CHSW) is a registered charity that provides palliative, respite, end of life and bereavement care for life-limited and terminally ill children and their families from the South West. It oversees three of the 41 children's hospices in the United Kingdom.
