Raleigh Manor care home in Exmouth welcomed a group of children from Brixington Primary Academy along with their headteacher Stuart Dyer in celebration of World Book Day.

The children and their teachers had brought their favourite books alive by dressing up as the characters, with Mr Dyer as Dennis the Menace.

Raleigh Manor has a number of former teachers in its community and these school visits bring back very special memories for them. They joined the children in sharing their favourite books.

Gill Pratt, General Manager at Raleigh Manor, said: “Activities organised with our local school, Brixington Primary Academy, are always a winner for all involved. The opportunity for both generations to share their love of the written word is special.”

Mr Dyer said: "Our students and teachers alike love their outings to Raleigh Manor. I feel it is so important in our community to encourage inter-generational engagement.”
