The Exeter Festival Chorus will perform music by Romantic composer Johannes Brahms at the Holy Trinity Church on Saturday, March 25.
The programme will consist of Brahms’ German Requiem (Ein deutsches Requiem) and three Lieder songs.
The German Requiem remains a highly popular work for choirs and audience alike. As an alternative to the traditional orchestral accompaniment, this performance features two highly talented local pianists playing Brahms’ own piano arrangement for four hands.
The Lieder songs for soprano and baritone, reflecting Brahms’ love of nature, love and music, complete the programme.
The concert will feature pianists Peter Adcock and Peter King, with soprano Lisa Moffat and baritone Matthew Palmer. Musical director is Andrea Brown.
The concert will start at 7.30pm with a running time of one hour 40 minutes with a 20-minute interval, during which refreshments will be available.
Tickets are £15 (adults), £5 (students over 18), £1 (children) and all seats are unreserved. Purchase online via www.ticketsource.co.uk or by calling TicketSource on 0333 666 3366
