Lympstone-based RMA – The Royal Marines Charity Membership Ops Director and ex-RM Commando Richie Puttock lead an honorary cold water dip on Saturday.

Members took part in this as a tribute to veteran Tim Crossin. Also taking part were members of the RM 561 troop reunion group.

Taking place at 11am at the Lifeboat Jetty on Saturday Jan 28 all members of the swim donated £10 each to Tim's cause.

Tim Crossin, a Former Royal Marine who set himself the challenge of taking a dip every day at 31 locations across the UK to raise funds for The Royal Marines Charity (RMA), cancer charity Lymphoma Action and veterans’ mental health organisation Rock2Recovery.

Tim has beaten three lymphoma cancers in the last four years. The 59-year-old had his hopes of remission devastated this December when he was told that his stem cell transplant had not been successful, with further cancers diagnosed.

Despite this news, Tim is pressing ahead with his fundraising campaign which will see him circumnavigate the British coastline solo in his campervan and take a cold-water dip every day.

Orangisers of the event hailed it 'great fun enjoyed by all.'
