Ocean Exmouth will be hosting a local 'meet the artist' event at the end of the month. 

Taking place on Sunday January 22 from 3pm to 5pm, its a chance for Exmouth artists to get together and share ideas and showcase their work at the Deck Cafe at Ocean.

In recent months diners at the Deck Restaurant not only had the pleasure of great food and stunning sea views, but they could also feast their eyes on an exhibition of paintings by artist, Michael Buckland.

As well as David's art work on display, there will be a unique opportunity to see an extensive selection of Michael’s sketch books, which will cover the breadth and depth of his work ranging from drawings he created during his time at Harrow School of Art in the 60s, watercolour sketches capturing the childhood of his two sons and energetic drawings done during his time of being Artist in the Park for Exmouth Festival.

Michael says ‘The opportunity to share my sketchbooks means so much to me. In 2020 I was diagnosed with dementia, and my love of drawing has played an important role in coming to terms with the illness”.
