Brixington Primary Academy's choir joined the residents at Exmouth care home Raleigh Manor for their Lights On celebration on Thursday, December 1, marking the beginning of Christmas festivities at the home.

The Christmas tree lights switch-on is a traditional celebration bringing together residents, family, neighbours and staff.

General Manager Laura Coupe said: “What better way to start the festive season than have the happy voices of the Brixington Primary Academy singing us Christmas carols as we turn the lights on? The children brought a smile and the spirit of Christmas to everyone in the room.”

This is not the first time the choir have entertained the residents.

Stuart Dyer, head of Brixington Primary Academy, said: “The children very much enjoy performing for the residents at Raleigh Manor and we feel it is a very rewarding experience for everyone involved.”

Raleigh Manor has a festive activity every day until the 25th, ranging from gingerbread house making to a string quartet concert, and has invited the community to join in.
