A Papa John's Pizza parlor will be moving into the former Greggs store on The Parade.

Shop refitting work is currently underway and signage reading 'Papa Johns' on the serving counter at the front of the shop has been spotted.

The building was formerly used by Greggs, who have moved to a larger site round the corner in the Magnolia Centre, in the former Burton Menswear shop.

The larger Greggs store opened to the public last month.

It will be the first Papa Johns store in Exmouth town, there is currently one franchise at Sandy Bay holiday park in Littleham.

Papa Johns pizza are adding a customer area including a sales counter and a small breakfast bar.

The kitchen will contain a double-deck oven, cut/box table, slap and sauce table, washing up area, preparation and dispatch areas, racking, fridges and a freezer.

On the first floor, the office and racking will be added to the storeroom. An extractor fan taking the fumes from the cooking will be installed to extract the fumes to the service yard at the rear.

The existing shopfront, double doors, and frames will be retained, with new signage placed above reading Papa Johns.

Papa Johns refused to confirm to the Journal whether they were moving into the site, or confirm an opening day.
