A new physiotherapy business has opened on Brixington Parade.

Pyramid Health was started by Exmouth businessman Mike Richards and has a team of three on hand to help sports injuries and creaky bones.

Owner Mike Richards is a chiropractor, Claire Stokes is a chartered physiotherapist and Will Hockin is a soft tissue specialist who are working at the Brixington site.

Will Hocking recently graduated from the Level five massage and therapy course at Exmouth School of Massage.

Mike earned his Master of Chiropractic degree at the prestigious AECC at Bournemouth University in 2011. Since then Mike has worked in Exmouth and Exeter providing care to the general population as well as supporting local rugby teams.

Claire Stokes joined Pyramid Health having previously worked as a schoolteacher and soft tissue therapist, before qualifying as a physiotherapist in 2021.

Will Hockin told the Journal: “We are here to help anyone in Exmouth, offering a range of therapies for anyone – sports injures and acute pains, young and old.

“We also offer a triage service, with a free no obligation to get your aches and pains diagnosed, with no obligation to get it fixed with or without Pyramid.

“Chiropractors are best known for treating spinal problems, such as low back pain, neck pain, sciatica and headaches. But chiropractic care has also been shown to be effective in helping sports injuries, hip & knee arthritis, migraine prevention and a host of other conditions.

"Physiotherapy can use many different techniques and is probably the best-known modality for treating strains and sprains. Although NHS waiting times can be up to three months, our private physiotherapists can usually offer appointments within two weeks.

“We hope the Exmouth community can pop in and have a chat about injures they may have.”
