The Exmouth U3A are celebrating their 10th anniversary this year and are celebrating with lots of events planned.   

Coming up is their ‘Groups Open Day’ in Exmouth Pavilion. Representing the 80 plus Interest Groups will be Accidental Chefs, Bowls, Geology, the newly formed Pickle Ball, Urban Sketching, Railway Modelling and many more.  

 The Quilting for Fun Group will have a display of their magnificent quilts with raffle tickets on sale with the lucky winner winning the specially designed Tenth Anniversary Quilt.   

The ‘Quizzy Rascals’ will be presented with the Devon Shield they have recently won in a challenging competition between u3a quiz groups in East and South Devon.  

Visitors are welcome to join the u3a for £6 until the end of April (£12 a year) with many benefits including joining as many groups as they wish, monthly meetings in the Pavilion with excellent speakers, Thursday ‘Coffee and Chat’ sessions via Zoom and a colourful and informative newsletter.   

The active Social Committee organise many outings during the year and members can purchase tickets at a reasonable rate. The Fireworks Cruise always proves to be very popular.  

Future events include the planting of 10 fruit trees, including local varieties such as Exeter Cross and Star of Devon on National Trust land at Lower Halsdon Farm in mid to late November. Another exciting project to mark the 10th Anniversary of Exmouth & District u3a.
