An Exmouth minister, Bishop Josep Rossello from Christ Church, has been appointed the new Global Bishop Guardian of NAMS (New Anglican Mission Society).

NAMS is a missionary agency that works around the world. Its ministries have run projects such as helping to raise income for single mothers in Kenya, working with children through football and setting up new churches.

In his new role, Bishop Josep will chair the NAMS Council of Bishops Guardians alongside five international Anglian bishops. He will also be the spiritual advisor to the president and director of the Society. He has been involved with NAMS since 2010, and gained valuable experience for the role while in Brazil working in various social projects and church missions.

He said: "I feel humbled to be offered such a role in these challenging times.  It is a privilege to work with such an amazing band of brothers and sisters from around the world, and experience such diversity of languages and cultures, and the different ways the church of Jesus Christ is expressed in the nations."

Bishop Josep was brought up in Spain and lived in many countries before coming to Exmouth, accruing experience in mission and project ministries over a 20-year period.
