The Exmouth Players next production is the award winning Willy Russell play Blood Brothers.
The play, (not the musicial) will be performed at the Blackmore Theatre, on Bicton Street, Exmouth from October 10-15th with a Matinee on the October 15.
Blood Brothers tells the story of the two differing lives led by the fraternal twins Mickey and Eddie (played by Dave Killoran and Matt Howard) who were separated by a secret pact made between Mrs Johnston, their mother and Mrs Lyons, her employer.
Chance meetings bring these separated twins together through the years, from the moment they swear their allegiance as boyhood ‘blood brothers’ and into adulthood. Their family lives could not be more different, Mrs Johnston a struggling single parent raises Micky with his numerous siblings whilst Mrs Lyons a suburban housewife is at home alone whilst her husband works away and cannot have children of her own.
The story progresses as the twins grow up with their lives taking very different paths. This play addresses the inequality of life, class, guilt, punishment and in a final, dramatic confrontation as the truth is revealed the boys’ fate is sealed.
