EXMOUTH RNLI lifeguards at the weekend took their rescue water craft jet-ski (RWC) to Dawlish Warren to help the Devon Air Ambulance crew after a woman on the beach hurt her back.
As soon as the helicopter launched off, the lifeguards were tasked to rescue a kite surfer off Exmouth.
The lifeguards said the rescue was 'textbook' after reaching the kitesurfer within minutes of the call for help.
An RNLI spokesman said: "The outgoing tide and south-westerly wind had caught the kite-surfer out. He had ended up on Conger Rocks in front of our hut.
"We were back in Exmouth in minutes and our crew member on the RWC swam to the rocks and helped the kite surfer pack their kit down.
"Once all the lines were wrapped up in the kite, we positioned the RWC alongside the rocks and ferried the kite-surfer, their kit and the crew member back to the beach.
