AN Exeter man who admitted being in possession of a �1,300 ring stolen from Otterton Mill has been slapped with a four-month prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, a three-month 7pm-7am curfew and ordered to pay compensation.
AN Exeter man who admitted being in possession of a �1,300 ring stolen from Otterton Mill has been slapped with a four-month prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, a three-month 7pm-7am curfew and ordered to pay compensation.
Simon Matthew Gilchrist, 35, of Lavender Road, Exeter, admitted selling the stolen ring for instant cash to the Money Shop, in Exeter.
He also admitted stealing a charity box from behind a counter from the St Sidwell Centre, in the city.
Magistrates sitting at Exeter ordered Gilchrist to pay the centre �10 in lieu of the stolen charity fund.
