THE Lympstone Royal Marines Commando Training Centre has signed up two new recruits who are waging a war against breast cancer.
Cancer Research UK fundraisers Sylvia Arlett and Dawn Harrison
swung into action at the Marines' assault course to launch the charity's new breast cancer awareness and fundraising campaign 'Join the fight for women's survival.'
The dynamic duo, wearing combats teamed with the charity's unique pink and blue camouflage, were at the camp to highlight the new campaign.
Cancer Research UK spokeswoman Sylvia said: "We are shaping up to recruit mums, dads, families, friends and work colleagues throughout Devon to help raise money.
"We want them to step forward and be counted as they join the fight for women's survival.
"The message to everyone is clear - Cancer Research UK needs you.
"Supporters can request a fundraising pack crammed full of tips for organising an event to raise money for life saving research.
"We need everyone in the Devon to get involved.
"Our research is beating breast cancer but we still need people to help us fight harder.
"Every penny raised will help save more lives in the future."
A host of celebrities have already signed up to the campaign.
New recruits can kit themselves out with the charity's pink and blue 'camo' ribbon, available in the form of an enamel pin badge from Cancer Research UK shops.
A limited edition 'camo' duck is also available, for those wishing to plan their fundraising strategy from the bath.
