Most visitors and all residents like to walk along the seafront between Steamer Steps to the Otter Head and points in between, while enjoying the long ranging views over Lyme and Tor Bays. It is enjoyed by toddlers and the old alike.
As a patient, recovering from cardio-vascular surgery, where excercise, particularly walking, is high value, it is nice to know that on the seafront with the, at present three shelters, you are never far from a dry refuge, should the weather take a turn for the worse.
At the present time, I value this resource in the town highly, as I am sure do many others, both residents and visitors alike, who use the seafront.
The applicants must be free to make such planning applications as they wish and they should be considered and decided with due diligence.
In proposing to demolish a valuable community asset, they go too far and the town and district councils, as guardians and owners respectfully, should make it clear that it is not for sale, in the same way, I would hope, they would react to an offer to buy the seafront lavatories
