A MEMORIAL wall dedicated to Royal Marines who have lost their lives in combat since January 1 2000 will this month be unveiled at a ceremony at Lympstone Commando Training Centre.

The wall will be dedicated during a special service and parade which will be attended by invited family members of fallen military officers.

The service of dedication will be incorporated into the traditional parade and service held annually for the Royal Marines Association and the Commandant General Royal Marines, Major General A Salmon OBE, will be the inspecting officer.

A Royal Marine spokesman said: "The wall was commissioned in order to provide a permanent and fitting memorial to those members of the Corps who have died on operations whilst serving their country and is designed to be a memorial for the 21st century.
