BUDLEIGH Salterton police are appealing for information after the wall safe at St Peter's Church was damaged at the end of last month.
The police said a man described as being, white and aged around 35 years old was seen acting suspiciously in the church at the time of the incident.
He was wearing a brown t-shirt or polo top and dark jeans.
Any member of the public with any further information regarding this incident is asked to call the police on 08452 777 444, quoting crime reference KE/09/2520.
