A FISHERMAN from Weston Super Mare in a boat off Exmouth came to the rescue of a stricken vessel after he was radioed by coastguards and asked to help.
Alan Derrick was in his boat with his father-in-law, Brian Searle, when he was told by coastguards a nearby boat was in trouble with engine failure.
When Mr Derrick located the stricken vessel he found a man and a woman stranded on the boat.
The Somerset fisherman towed the boat to safety, returning it to Teignmouth.
