FIFTY hard-working children have been helping deliver greeting cards in Topsham as part of a Christmas post scheme.
Youngsters, from the Exeter and District Scouts, and their parents, have helped deliver cards across the town. It is the 29th year the festive delivery service has taken place.
People paid just 20p to post a card in specially-designed boxes which were then sorted and taken to the recipient's address. The proceeds go towards the Children's Hospice and shared between 15 scout groups.
Sue Bendell, the scout post organiser, of Old Rydon Lane, said: "The Christmas post is really successful and used by a lot of people.
"You can't go wrong because it only costs 20p - compared with sending a card at 29p second class with Royal Mail."
Sue, who used to run Topsham News but retired three years ago, added: "All of our expenses are covered so the whole money goes towards to good causes.
"We are very grateful to all the shops and business who have supported us.
