TALENTED rugby players from St Peter's Prep school in Lympstone are celebrating an unbeaten season.

The under 11 side, made up of sportsmen to potentially look out for in the future, have failed to lose a game.

A PE teacher at St Peter's said: "The boys are extremely proud of their achievement.

"We have a great reputation for rugby - 11 of the older pupils made the squad for the annual Devon versus Somerset Prep School match on the 29th November, when Devon won 10-0."

The game is an important fixture for both schools, with a long-standing tradition and friendly rivalry.

St Peter's headmaster Noel Neeson and coach Trever Harris were extremely proud upon hearing their pupils had made the Devon squad.

The title of the under 11's best try of the season was handed to Edward Doble.

Reflecting on a successful campaign, Gwyn Parks was also singled out for praise after converting all but one of his kicks.

Will Vickery, team captain, said the nerviest moment was the first match after half term, when they hadn't played together for 2 weeks.

Aaron Chapman, vice captain, pack Leader and chief try scorer, put their victories down to 'good times and communication'.
