A GARDEN centre has been barking up the right tree as far as a forces charity is concerned.
Kings Garden and Leisure Centre, on High Hulham Road, has donated 1000 for Help the Heroes after setting aside 1 from every Christmas tree it sold during the festive period.
The money was handed over last Wednesday, February 17, when Sergeant Major Aliastair McGill and David Gammell of Help for Heroes were welcomed by the centre owner Richard King.
The charity was founded in October 2007 out of a desire to help wounded servicemen and women returning from Afghanistan and Iraq.
It hopes to raise 20m by next year to build regional recovery houses across the UK which would serve as the last stage of rehabilitation before a serviceman, or women, returns to their unit or back into civilian life.
