The organiser of a fund-raising skittle marathon in aid of Devon Air Ambulance has hailed the event as a glowing success.
THE ORGANISER of 12-hour skittle marathon held at a pub in Colaton Raleigh to raise money for Devon Air Ambulance was bowled over by its success.
Ken Morrish, 73, of Church Road, put together the skittle event at the Otter Inn. A team of eight people took part, helping to raise more than 800 for the charity.
Mr Morrish said: “It was a very good day. We would like to thank everybody, including all the local businesses who donated prizes for a draw which also took part on the day.
“We once did a 24-hour marathon when we first started raising money for the air ambulance 15 years ago.”
