Budleigh Salterton remember those who had fought in the Battle of Britain when a service was held at the war memorial
Don Pappworth, a veteran of World War Two, was among many who remembered those who had lost their lives for their country, when he laid a wreath on behalf of the town.
Many were taken back in time when a recording of Winston Churchill speaking was played.
Budleigh Salterton Poppy Appeal organiser Glenn Sismore-Hunt said: βItβs nice that people turn up and just stand there and remember. It was nice to see Don there as our president of the British Legion.β
The ceremony was followed by a short service.
