The idea of homes on the Greenway allotments is totally flawed. Traffic around that area is already at saturation point and the emergency services would struggle to get down Greenway in an emergency.
Sixty-five years of cultivation cannot be recreated overnight and it would be heartbreaking for the older allotment keepers, who have toiled over their plots for many years, just so developers can build more four-bedroom, unaffordable housing and stick a block of flats in the corner for “affordable” housing, � la Norman Crescent.
