Exmouth police are appealing for witnesses after a man’s face was left battered and bruised following an unprovoked attack in the town centre.
Officers said a local man was assaulted in The Strand in the early hours of Saturday, June 11.
Police said the attack took place outside a fast food outlet and the victim was left with ‘substantial’ facial injuries.
They have released a CCTV image of the man being beaten, and a picture (right) showing the injuries he received in the attack, in the hope it will encourage anyone who may have witnessed the assault to come forward.
Officers have also released a description of a man they are keen to trace to help with their inquiries. He has been described as being white, around 6ft tall, of medium build with dark hair. He was wearing a green top and dark-coloured jeans or trousers.
If you have information about the attack, contact PC Sarah Henley at Exmouth CID on 08452777444 quoting crime reference KE/11/1532, or Crimestoppers, in confidence, on 0800 555111.
