Youngsters from The Beacon Primary School joined in the Northcott Theatre’s Bear Hunt fun by creating props for the performance.

Pupils from The Beacon Primary School had a tree-mendous time, creating props to go on display at Exeter’s Northcott Theatre.

The Year Two pupils got stuck into making trees as part of a project to involve schools in the theatre’s Christmas production, We’re Going on a Bear Hunt.

The youngsters created a number of trees with artist James Lake, as part of the Devon Arts in Schools Initiative (DAISI), in conjunction with the Northcott Theatre.

Younger pupils from the school will see their fellow pupils’ work when they watch the performance later this year.

Other props have been created by schools within East Devon and Exeter, which will also be displayed at the theatre over the festive season.

The production, adapted for stage from Michael Rosen’s award-winning book, runs from Thursday, December 8, until January 1, 2012.

The audience is invited to join the cast of ‘intrepid’ adventurers on their quest to find a bear.
