An Exmouth community group set up to encourage people to exercise raised thousands of pounds and awareness for the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MND) with a dinner and dance evening.
Exmouth Tri-Hards was set up in June 2017 by Shelly Stammers to encourage women to get back into exercise, meet new people, and start competing in events; husband Neal later founded the gents’ group.
The Exmouth Tri-Hards held its first dinner and dance at Woodbury Park, raising £8073 for the MND charity.
The sell out evening was organised by Shelly, her husband Neal, and fellow Tri-Hards, Lisa Findel-Hawkins and Jo Venus.
Shelly said local MND representative, Cynthia Hopkins, who attended the evening, was ‘absolutely blown away’ by the backing of the Tri-Hards.
The organisers thanked everyone who supported the evening; for raffle and auction prizes, to Woodbury Park and the Cover Cupboard, for decorating the room in the MND charity’s colours, and live band, One Foot in the Groove.
