WITHYCOMBE Raleigh playgroup youngsters are one step closer to their quest for an all-weather playground thanks to the generosity of the Exmouth Round Table.

Round Table president Viv Woodall recently presented the youngsters with a donation of £200 for their new outdoor play area.

The donation means the playgroup is now half-way towards reaching the target needed to fund the project.

A spokeswoman for the group said: "We would like to thank the Round Table and all the other local organisations that have supported us so far."

The main fundraising event held by Exmouth Round Table is the annual fireworks extravaganza.

This year's display will be held on Wednesday November 5 at the Rugby Ground in Imperial Road. A Round Table spokesperson said: "Please come and support the event so that the Round Table can continue to help groups within the local community."

The Exmouth branch of the Round Table is always seeking new members and anyone interested in getting involved with the organisation can speak to a steward at the firework event.

Anyone wishing to make a donation to the Withycombe play area is asked to contact a member of the committee on (01395) 264476.
