Archant

Hungry villagers have followed their stomachs to Woodbury Village Hall, to raise funds for FORCE Cancer Charity.

The latest edition of the FORCE Big Devon Breakfast was held in the village, and more than 250 people turned out to enjoy the food on offer.

Diners went through 35 loaves of bread, 35lbs of bacon and around 250 eggs, and £1900 was raised – far exceeding organisers’ expectations.

Chris Lear, who organised the event with Chris Quantick, said: “It was absolutely brilliant - I thought beforehand that if we made £1200 I’d be very happy.

“Everybody worked so hard, and we were supported by so many local businesses.

“This was the first time we’ve done one of these in Woodbury, and I’m already trying to find a date for next year!”
