BUDDING poets could land a £1,000 cash prize if they write a winning verse about Exmouth.

Now is the last chance to write a prizewinning poem in a competition aimed at getting more people to write poetry.

A spokesman said: "Your entry can be about something or someone from your home area.

"We find that poems written from personal observation and experience are the most heartfelt and expressive, so we're expecting some great entries from Exmouth."

The competition is free to enter and closes on December 31.
