Plans to build 14 apartments in Littleham have been refused by East Devon District Council.
The plan, to build apartments at 34 Cranford Avenue, was the subject of numerous objections from neighbours in Cranford Avenue, Douglas Avenue, Colvin Close and Dunsford Close, who complained that their homes would be overlooked.
Exmouth Town Council also objected to the plans, and now EDDC planning officers have ruled that the scheme cannot go ahead, saying it would be out of character for the area, and overbearing on surrounding residents.
