The house is an ancient grade II listed farmhouse of a traditional build under a thatched roof. The original house has a considerable number of period features such as a circular stair turret with a Tudor arched doorway, heavily beamed sitting and dining rooms, inglenook fireplaces and beautifully worn flagstones to the cross passage.
