Plans to convert a town centre building into flats have again been opposed by town councillors.
The owners of 6 Andrews Road previously applied to create five flats there, and following the rejection of that plan by district planners, have now applied for four flats.
Despite the reduced number, councillors said that their other concerns were still valid, and voted to oppose the plan.
Ward councillor Steve Gazzard said: “This is still in a flood risk area and still overdevelopment. The inadequate parking will still be there, and there are no drying areas identified.
“I don’t think anything has changed whatsoever and I’m disappointed the applicant hasn’t taken on board the issues, or taken pre-application advice [from district planners].”
East Devon District Council will now rule on the plans.
