Proposals to demolish a property and replace it with ten flats have been opposed by Exmouth Town Council's planning committee.

The plan is for 1 Sarlsdown Road.

Councillors said the plan would be over-development of the site, and that the proposed increase in the size of the building by more than 25 per cent would be against the Avenues Design Statement. Concerns were also raised about drainage and overlooking of neighbours.

East Devon District Council will decide on permission.
