Goals a plenty last Saturday as East Budleigh Reserves won a thriller by the odd goal in nine at Sidmouth.
The hosts took the lead before Ross Bright scored with a close-range volley. Sidmouth regained the advantage only for Ben Wilks to snatch an equaliser as the home side failed to clear a long throw.
Player of the match for Budleigh was ‘keeper Chris Wardle who made a couple of excellent saves, but he was unable to prevent the home side leading 3-2 at the break.
In a feisty second half Dan Atkinson dispatched a penalty to level the scores, but once again Sidmouth went in front.
Nathan Penhallurick was next to strike for Budleigh with a well-placed cross-shot and in a nail-biting finish Atkinson kept his cool to score his second penalty and give the Jays victory.
The First X1 had a day to forget in Division 1, beaten 8-1 by Wellington.
