East Budleigh Reserves cemented their position at the top of Division 4 with an efficient 4-1 victory over Exeter United.

While the visitors broke the deadlock against the run of play, East Budleigh responded on the half-hour, when the Exeter side cleared a Ross Bright corner as far as the taker. On recycling the ball, Bright saw Dan Atkinson hook it on for Ben Wilks to nip in and score.

Ten minutes later the turnaround was complete, as a corner from Tom Christian was turned in by Atkinson to make it 2-1 at the break. Budleigh had the best possible start to the second half when Owen Corrick drilled in a third for the home side.

At the other end, Budleigh ‘keeper Chris Wardle was ably supported by his defence of Michael Tapp, Fletcher, Bright and player of the match Ryan Britton, whilst captain Ben Wiltshire was solid in Budleigh’s engine room. Sub Will Price added a deserved fourth.
