Glorious sunshine brought out the crowds for Gala Week in Budleigh Salterton.

The week of fundraising events and entertainment is organised by the Budleigh Salterton Lions Club with help and support from several other local groups.

It began with the Cancer Research UK Big Breakfast in the Public Hall on Saturday (May 27), followed by the Fete on the Green.

The highly popular Pebble Building Competition was held on Bank Holiday Monday. The winning design was – appropriately – a lion. The winner of the tallest pebble tower was Thomas Shillitoe from St Peter's School PTA.

Further events take place throughout the week, ending on Sunday, June 4 with a treasure hunt and a quiz in The Feathers pub.

The Budleigh Salterton Lions would like to thank everyone who has supported the week’s events.
