And Journal readers have the chance to win £100 in cash in our easy-to-enter competition, run in collaboration with the panto!

Treasure Island – re-written by local playwright Steve Andrews – is at Budleigh Salterton Public Hall on Friday, November 3, and Saturday, November 4, starting at 7pm (doors 6pm).

There will also be a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm (doors 1.30pm).

The performances will be raising funds for a new library at St Peter’s Primary School in Budleigh.

Pupils from the school will be playing cutlass-waving pirates in the production, while other cast members span seven decades.

Tickets – for unreserved ‘cabaret’ seating – are available from Budleigh’s Card Shop Too and the Budleigh Tourist Information Centre. Tickets £8 per person (£5 for under-14s, matinee only). A bar, tea and refreshments will be available, plus raffle. Credit cards accepted. Call 01395 445275.

For more information about the production, call Dawn on 01395 222877.
