Pied Piper seeks cast in Axminster

09:41 14 August 2012

Archant

Axminster Drama Club will be staging The Pied Piper of Hamelin by Eric Fowler between Thursday, January 17, and Saturday, January 19.

The show is being directed by Marion Hansell, with the assistance of Jack Price.

There are lots of challenging parts for adults and children alike in the show and the club would like to have a large and vociferous chorus as there is plenty of lively singing and dancing.

The read through takes place tonight at 7.30pm, at the Plaza but the auditions for speaking parts take place on Thursday, August 16, and Tuesday, August 21, at 7.30pm, in the Plaza, behind the Guildhall.

There are two dates, in case some people are unable to attend on one of them.

Auditions for children wanting to take part will be held on Tuesday, August 28, at 6pm, at the Plaza.

For more details about this audition email Norrlet@aol.com as spaces are limited this year.

Chloë Stratta.

Elijah, first performed in Birmingham in 1846 and conducted by the composer himself, is not a work to be attempted by the faint-hearted, requiring singers with stamina and the ability to sing over an arching range of dynamics, from the contemplative style of Blessed are the Men who fear Him, to the declamatory Baal we cry to thee.
