Great Expectations: A Teddy Hayes Musical is at the Exmouth Pavilion on February 25.

The classic Charles Dickens tale, set in Victorian times, has been adapted, written and composed by Teddy Hayes.

It tells the story of Pip, a poor orphaned blacksmith’s apprentice, whose life is changed when he is visited by a London lawyer. He tells him that a mysterious benefactor wants him to give up his apprenticeship and live as a proper gentlemen, with all expenses paid.

Along his adventurous road to becoming a gentleman, Pip finds love, adventure, revenge and heartbreak, only to discover that his new life is not all that it seems.

This lively show - with 14 songs and eight actors singing and dancing - is told in a fun, flamboyant and satirical style. The book is on the national reading list, so it presents a chance for students as well as the entire family to enjoy this famous and well-loved Dickens tale.

Great Expectations: A Teddy Hayes Musical is at the Exmouth Pavilion on Saturday, February 25, at 7.30pm. Tickets are £17.50 (flat) and £19.50 (raised). Call 01395 222477 or book online at
