SeatonMusic will be hosting the Nordic Chamber Ensemble, which is the touring arm of the youngest orchestra in Sweden, which was founded in 1990 with the original intention of promoting new works by Scandinavian composers.

In 2005, the world-famous trombone soloist Christian Lindberg took over as principal conductor.

With the orchestra, he has successfully combined this with the classical repertoire.

Besides its classical and modern repertoire, the Nordic Chamber Orchestra has commissioned works from well-known jazz artists, and is in the front line when it comes to crossover music.

It has also worked with rock groups and folklore groups, and is always eager to create something new.

SeatonMusic audience will enjoy a programme which includes a second tribute to Poulenc in his 150th anniversary year, a Mozart flute quartet, a piece by Larsson and a finale of Schubert’s much-loved Trout quintet.

Join SeatonMusic for an exceptional evening on Thursday January 31, by this enterprising group, at Seaton Town Hall.

Please note the later start time of 8pm.

Tickets cost £12.50 on the door or in advance from the Town Hall Box Office, 01297 625699.

Los Pacaminos come to Exmouth

On a bleak November day in London in 1993, singer Paul Young was pondering how to break the album/promotion/tour routine that to be honest, was becoming a little predictable after 10 years of being a solo performer. And anyway, he missed the camaraderie of just being a band member. So he called around some of his friends and members of his previous line-ups through the years to find out who would be interested in forming a loose, relaxed Tex-Mex group for some impromptu gigs.
