The second sale day of one of the largest jumble sales in the South West, is set to take place on Saturday.

Held every year in Ottery St Mary, and organised by the town’s Scouts, teams are sent round collecting unwanted items from people’s houses in the weeks running up to the event.

John Green, Ottery St Mary Scout leader, said everyone in the group gets involved, from Cubs to Explorers along with parents and other volunteers.

The funds raised by the jumble sale are used to pay for scouting activities for the 120 young people in the Ottery Scout Group throughout the year.

We repeat the whole process again on Saturday, February 4, with the sale of all clothes, shoes and household items.”

The sale takes place at The Institute, Old Boys’ School, and Coleridge Playgroup, starting at 1.30pm.
