Joe Longthorne is a talented artist that began his career over four decades ago.

His big break came in 1981 when he was a finalist on London Weekend TV’s Search for a Star, this then led to appearences with Bob Hope. Joe’s repertoire of voices is endless and includes hundreds of the world’s top singers, however he is perhaps best known for his Shirley Bassey impersonation. She herself commented: “Joe can do me better than I do myself”. This really is a show not to be missed as Joe shares humour, life experiences, stories, views and observations, mixed with impressions by the hundred!

Tickets for Friday, November 2, are priced at £20 and are available at the Exmouth Pavilion Box office on 01395 222477 or visit the website on

www.exmouthpavilion.co.uk to book your tickets online.

The Journal has a pair of tickets for this magical evening to give away. All you have to do is answer the following question:

When did Joe get his big break?

Please send your answers on a postcard with your address and a daytime phone number to:

Joe Longthorne Competition, Features sub-editor, Archant South West, Fair Oak Close, Exeter Airport Business Park, Clyst Honiton, Nr Exeter EX5 2UL.

Answers must be in by Friday, October 26. Editor’s decision is final.
